HOW DO U DO THE THING?

We’re on a journey to redefine what people know about parrot intelligence. By raising Apollo, our African Grey parrot, with the same care and commitment given to a human child, we aim to demonstrate the incredible cognitive and emotional depth of parrots. Our mission is to share Apollo’s development with the world, inspiring others to recognize the intelligence, curiosity, and individuality of these remarkable animals.

Apollo became a part of our lives as a young parrot surrendered at 8 months, full of potential and curiosity. As his human parents, Dalton and Tori Mason, we’ve dedicated ourselves to nurturing his growth in a loving, enriching home environment. With two playful caiques, Soleil and Ophelia, as his flockmates, Apollo learns and explores in a vibrant, social setting. Through our journey with Apollo, we hope to inspire others to see parrots as more than pets, but as intelligent, social beings capable of deep relationships and incredible learning.

We are committed to providing Apollo with a unique education, modeled on preschool-level homeschooling to expand his vocabulary, reasoning, and social skills. Drawing from scientifically inspired training methods, we guide Apollo through structured lessons balanced with unstructured play. By sharing his progress, we hope to reveal the true potential of parrots and contribute to a broader understanding of animal cognition and care.
